This thread is 60 years old. The OP was fired and quit trucking after refusing to go to NYC.
Soon after, he became a lounge singer on a Carnival cruise ship, married a rich old spinster after meeting her on a cruise and then retired to the Bahamas.
He now lives in an assisted-living facility where a bevy of hot nurses take care of his every need.
The moral of the story? Don’t go to NYC.

He was probably in the Witness Protection Program. You often see excellent delicious Italian eateries out in the boondocks where they stick out like a sore thumb, too obvious why they are there......

@Hurst when did you get the W9?

As a child of the south burbs of Chicago, I can vouch for this. And the best pizzas aren't the monstrosities called "Chicago-style Pizza" that you get downtown. They look like this:

A shout out to Arrenello's Pizza. They started in Glenwood, but now have other stores. And it's a rare and wonderful thing to find a pizza elsewhere that's even half this good, because pizza just sucks most places!Hurst Thanks this. -

I don't even know if it is still there, but Engine House #9 was THE place to go in Tacoma in the '70's. My good friend was the "chef" and made amazing pizzas. He persuaded the owner to let him do a Chef's Special Wednesday, because that was the slowest night of the week. Then Wednesdays became the biggest night of the week. He made amazing seafood stews and barbeque. Although he graduated with two majors, he decided to "keep cookin'" and became executive head chef of a major hotel in San Francisco, before I lost touch with him.
Sometimes you find diamonds in the strangest places. The best ribeye steak I have ever had was in Oregon, on the coast, I can't remember the name of the town, but it was next to a paper mill. I had a trainee in the truck. We were told our trailer would be ready in X hours, then we walked a few blocks to the restaurant. They had an entire wall displaying awards for barbeque competitions. That ribeye was a Grand Slam solid 10.Hurst Thanks this.
