Going forward , do YOUR part in attempting to get these issues addressed. Ya cant ##### about this stuff if you arent willing to see to getting things corrected, ya know? I made every effort to get things corrected, as I didnt want to be that type of driver to leave an issue for the next guy. Yes sometimes that put me out or behind. I suggest getting some OOS tags from a shop or OC at your next opportunity. Also as was mentioned above , simply completing a proper DVIR DOES NOT alert SEM of an issue. A separate mac needs sent to SEM giving location id as well as the actual defect. Again , no guarantee SEM will actually address it but at a minimum, on the mobile app the defect will be listed , which up to when I left was the only way a driver could see if a defect had been actually written up and what the defect is.. side note, if it were me, I would have pulled that trailer with the clearance lights issue. NOT an OOS defect, but if pulled in or over would be a fix it ticket nothing more.
Thanks for giving the info because I did not know about the tags or Mac 12, I agree with writing defects up and not leaving for next driver but what p####s me off is the SEM non caring attitude that I have come acrooss. I believe Schneider has drilled it in to a lot of Employees to do as little as possible when it comes to equipment so they can save and pinch every dime they can anywhere they can so SEM hesitates doing work actually needed. Maybe I am wrong on this but this is my experience and what I see.
most I have dealt with get just as frustrated. Mechs in obetz for sure. they simply do as much as is allowed. now coming to accept these facts about SNI. like em or not, did go along way to make my day to day less frustrating. why give them that kind of power over my day in addition to all the other bs I signed on for? lifes too short.....
I agree with Mickeyrat, those red tags are a good signal to warn other drivers when dropping a trailer w/ defects. I would occasionally pick up a trailer with minor defects like a bald tire or lights out, so I would plan on stopping at an OC or a tire bank in route for quick fix. No big deal really.
It's just the frequency of repairs left undone that gets to me. I used to be extremely diligent on fixing stuff. Not any more. I freely admit it. I've donated more than my share of free time and labor to this organization. If it's an OOS issue, I'll take care of it. But I'm not busting my hump any longer.
