I saw a Volvo 770 the other day and I really like how the bottom bunk is a work desk/table like in an rc that converts into a bed. I was wondering if anyone has successfully removed their bottom bunk in a Freightliner.

My plan would be to sleep in the top bunk and use the new area for a couch or add a nice little counter/storage area, the possibilities are limitless.

I’ve looked around online for this specific thing and had no luck with google so I figured I’d ask the professionals.

Lol that's a cool idea. Just flip up the top bunk and its out of the way and you can hang out.

You can remove the bottom bunk, passenger seat and put a little sectional couch in there

Thanks for saying just get the Volvo, but as much as I’d love to get it they are rather heavy compared to other trucks from what I’ve heard. Bout 18.5-19k

What would you put in the extra space to make it a little more like a home away from home

You can order a new Freightliner that way. They’ve had that option for almost 20 years. Friends had a Century with it back in 2001.

I had a Freightliner Classic XL with a condo sleeper and converted the bottom bunk to a seating/work area with a bench seat and separate desk and chair. No pictures.

Heck yea man, how much work goes into removing the bunk, are they screwed into the floor and easy to remove brackets or is it a mold type deal that requires fabrication
