I hope not because I have requested one too! Really never gave it much thought until now.

I would think a mentor would take up smoking if he didn't already.

Yeah a vacuum comes in REAL handy. Messy habit. Bathe truck weekly with pine sol and a rinse keeps gag factor down.

Don't know about the food thing.

Seriously; If you can't avoid riding with one of us 'pigs'. Crack pass. side window about 1.25" while you are in sleeper. Helps allot.

Seems odd! I have met a lot of Swifties that don't smoke, but none of them are mentors. I guess the smokers have to keep students in the truck to offset the cost of smoking. LOL

Had three different mentors through my time with Swift. None of them smoked. I requested nonsmokers. Most of my two orientations were nonsmokers. (Out of 40 or so people, only 10 smoked.) I never had to wait. A few did, but most of those were smokers.

It really depends on the available mentors and what terminal you're at. I guess my terminal has more nonsmoking mentors than smoking mentors.

Even our academy trucks smell of smoke. Only one of the male instructors is a non-smoker, heck the female instructor chews! Must be an Idaho thing.

Don't take offense, but you can usually smell smokers when they walk in the room. It just oozes through the pores and it's much worse right after a smoke. I couldn't tolerate a smoker for a trainer, I'd have a massive headache the entire time.

I also can't imagine living with someone for that time period in such a confined space who smells like an asktray.

Hmm is that why most all my students and even some of there wives had no idea I smoke in the truck. You Non smokers amaze me. Your slowly getting poisoned by what's in the air you breathe and you say #### like this. Most likely the trainer couldn't tolerate you to begin with

Smoke em while you got em. They're talking about codifying it along with playing with the GPS, eating, drinking, changing channels on the stereo etc as 'distracted driving.' Look for these things to be outlawed in the next year or so.

To say EVERY smoker are pigs, slobs, stink and gross. Is like saying EVERY person in the world has blue eyes. I use to smoke many years ago (23) and never was like what you explained about.

Just say YOU dont want to be trained by a smoker. Just my to cents. :)
