Is this tanker part of what's offered at Seaboard? If so, I'd go for that over reefers.

You don’t have to work more than five days a week in trucking if choose not to. Take a “60” at home every weekend.

Is this the kind of trailer you haul farm animal food in? They do hire new grads and I went to school with a guy that was sponsored by them. However I just spoke with my friend and the pay is lower than I anticipated and I would be commuting an hour one way if I were to work for them. I'm having second thoughts at the moment.

Some feed trailers look like that. They unload with air pressure; the truck has a pump that pressurizes the tank and pushes the feed out.
If the pay is low,you do have a lot to consider. The positive is, it's local work. Just depends on how much money you need to make.
Once you have a year experience, you could switch to Schilli Corporation and probably do real well in their tanker divisions. Schilli is the umbrella company for a few tanker outfits.
If money is really in need right now; probably consider just going with Magnum Ltd. or something similar for the time being.18Down and bottomdumpin Thank this. -
schillicorp.com is the website for future reference

Move to Oklahoma city or norman...at least you'd be out of stoolwater with all that obnoxious orange. Yrc has a terminal in OKC and hires with no experience. When I left they were doing a dock to driver deal. You get paid for everything including traffic Jams, making phone calls. Probably still be there but I missed pulling tankers

As of this years taxes you can forget about that, the company driver per-diem is gone. Itemizing deductions as an employee is gone. If your company isn't paying you it, there is no tax-deduction to take.
You guys need to keep up. -
With due respect, if you will read all of the messages related to this topic in this thread, my information was accurate. You quoted two messages above that takes the discussion out of context. I have provided all of the messages below for your reference.
For tax year 2017, which will be filed in the current year, the itemized deductions are still available. My message you quoted above was in response to a member asking about 2017. For 2018 and going forward (unless changes are made) you will not have the option to itemize the per diem deduction as a company driver. There are several threads in the forum regarding the topic, and there is a lot of misinformation.
Toomanybikes Thanks this.
