but different scale houses are different

my local scale house told me it was ok to have no plates because i was going to park it at a local truck stop

if that happened anywhere else, i am sure there would be hell to pay, but sometimes DOT guys are just regular guys

cargo insurance , or bobtail insurance isn't what is needed. its liability insurance. when you order temps from comdata, they only ask for insurance company and policy number.

and a hunters permit is easy to get, its just basically a temp irp. again its not complicated. its only complicated to those who have never got one or either ordered there own temp permits. one call to comdata will get it done.

so , you think the only way is towing. I can temps for any state in less than an hour for any state, even temporary ifta, so you go ahead with the tow truck, I will just get temp permits.

Yeah you guys right my bad because was six months ago - it is liability, but the problem in my case was that I was leased to out of state of Florida company so Florida does no want to recognize their libaility insurance? So do i have to make another liability policy in Florida too so I can get my plates? Here is a copy of the Florida's email:

and also none of the out of state have the PIP that is required by FL state. I guess you cannot have a plate from FL and get leased to out of FL state company.

I heard of a guy who was leased onto Company A but wanted to sign on to Company B. So he called Company B and scheduled orientation and bobtailed over there in his tractor using Company A's plates, authority, insurance etc and came out of orientation on a Thursday. He post dated his new contract with Company B for Monday. Then he continued to haul loads for Company A and went home for the weekend. Drove over to Company B headquarters Sunday night and sent a message on Qualcomm Monday morning to terminate his contract with Company A. Scheduled to remove the qualcomm and plates and return all paperwork at driver's convenience.

I think someone is confused, mainly the state. get them the proof of insurance they are requesting, a copy of the lease and you should be fine. the pip should be covered by a bobtail ins, policy.
