I don't mind cats. My wife has three of em.

Any way years ago (long long story) I moved out of my house for a few months for a family that needed it worse than I did. I lived in a 1 room appartment at a friends place for that time.
Any way they fed the stray cats and like ya'll already said one became 3 and then 8 and next thing you know there is about 12 or so of them.

After they moved out the .22 got 4 of them and the rest just disappeared.
Look at it this way I was thinning the herd down so that the rest were able to eat better.

    1. what a rough life
    2. rest area kitten my wife rescued when he was so small he would fit in one hand
    3.what a cool bed
    4. all three at the feed trough

I gotta tell you that there are cats at just about every rest area. I have two dogs with me and one is a dedicated cat hunter.Every night, late when there is no one around I take them out for a walk, on leash of course. The schnauzer almost always rousts some cats out of their beauty sleep. I don't let him get them but he has fun just rousting them out. One night in N.C. he went under this bush and all hell broke loose. I pulled him out of there and he had a cat stuck on the side of him. So I gave the cat a boot just to dislodge hgim of the side of my dog and the next thing I know I have the cat stuck on the side of my leg. Well I batted him off my leg and he runs off. My other little dog that I always have with us was thinkin, "I told you guys to leave those dang cats alone.

Now that you mention it I have to say you would be really suprised how many cats are hiding out around fast food places. Just about every place with a dumpster has cats. This I know because of my obsessed cat hunting pooch. When we are walking around fast food places at night he almost always finds some. For every feral cat you see there are 100 you do not see. It's amazing how tough those cats are. We were at a rest stop in ND this winter and it was a real cold one. About -20 or so a blowing like crazy. I see this skinny looking tom cat as I was coming out of the washroom. I decided he looked like he needed some food so I went back to the truck and got him a bowl of dog kibble. Well he just looked at me like, whats this crap, He flicked his tail at me and took off. In the morning the kibble was still there. It would be gone quick when the crows found it. Well anyway I have to say that the southern cats like dog kibble just fine and gobble it right fast. Their fatter than those northern cats too.
