That means he is most likely running under the companies authority and insurance. If you do that, yeah they can control you. If he was a o/of running his own authority, he makes the rules!!!

He said he had to make some money first as it's alot also the company he is with say when he pays for it has to drive six months before he gets it. He just said it's lots of money to get started and this company says he has to wait to get it after he has it. I don't understand if you pay for something you should have it. Just confused he is a company driver with his own truck and pays for it they don't.

I'm confused here too. He's an O/O that can't bring you with him because of company policy? Curious...

I don't know go figure, he bought a truck big enough. It's not only me and he was told that there was no problem because it's his truck they won't let him get his own insurance. Owner operator still has to have a baby sitter with a truck payment.

    Friday Thanks this.

You sure he's an O/O and not a L/O? This sounds much more like a lease to me.

Policies & cost VARY WIDELY by company. Ask your individual company for details.

Some companies that don't allow pets for company drivers don't allow pets for lease/O-O. If you use a trucking company insurance you must comply with THEIR insurance requirements. It's not a matter of who has title to the truck.

You didn't make an idiot of yourself. And I'm not describing all companies.
