Road Runner 225,000 on .98 cpm? I don't know about that but hey have a open mind and sign up... At least they get a new truck to haul all that freight... I seen the rate sheet for t2t and don't see how one can make that ... Thanks

Well here's my open mind 2 your $225,000 let's do the math at .30 a mile fsc which we haven't seen all year this would come out to be 170000 miles a year so how is a solo driver going to do that even if he didn't take any home time it would be impossible and if you have to run 170000 miles to make that kind of money guess what you just spend it all in fuel so you made no money you got no home time you just wore out your truck and there's no money to fix it

The terminal to terminal linehaul rates in some markets is over $2 bucks a mile plus FSC. Heading out of those same markets can pay as little as $0.65 to $0.85 a mile then add FSC.

If the terminal doesn't have a load for you, you may call a RR Agent to book you a backhaul but first must get permission from Corporate who may or may not say yes. RR agents like to offer $1.10 a mile all in for all markets. I always turned that down but was asked by my tax guy why my numbers were so low compared to other RR O/O's who took loads like that. It just makes me sick to run for so cheap while some guy back at the office is laughing at the hamster running on the hamster wheel as fast as they can.

There might very well be a few or even one O/O at RR who is earning $225,000 a year and that's all they need to advertise that legally. Just like those ads you see on the back of trailers, "we pay up to $0.55 a mile...." they only need to pay one driver that to claim that ad as legal.

But I did hear of one RR O/O who had a dedicated lane, Milwaukee WI to Los Angeles CA, he would run 4400 miles a week for 3 weeks then hire a temp retired driver to run the one week he had off, so theoretically this guy was pushing over $200 grand a year.

    Robin Williams Thanks this.

Thank you for your reply. (Very helpful!)
I found more information (below) on an older thread from Roadrunner. Other than the FSC, do you think it's still accurate today?

"RRTS is a very good company to work for. Each lane has a set milage rate. Mi to FL 1.45 + 45 fsc. ALT to Det 1.12 + 45fsc. FSC is put out mondays and is the same for all loads. expect loads going to the west coast get a penny more. 60% of load is loaded on comdata card when you get your paper work. If load pays 2000 then 1200 is put on card before you leave. Plus you get 4 cent a mile for hazmat loads. This comdata is a cash card NOT a credit card. Paper work is very easy you have to fill out trip report for milage run in each state for each load in detail. Logs must be done right and filled in right or you will not work here. Fuel stops must logged has they happen to the minute and town. They do take there safty rating serious with terminal people inspecting your truck plus six month dot annual inp. We get inpected alot because of the hazmat we haul. so you must have your ducks in a row. Transflow by friday noon CTS time pay is in the bank the next friday. The fuel Discount is like no other at TA and Petro it is 5 cent above the cost they pay to put it the ground. Many states are 28 to 60 cent off cash price is what you pay. Last week FL was 33 cent off. 200 gallons = 66 dollars in my pocket. There is no force dispatch and no one has EVER ask me to do something i didnt want to or has anyone EVER ask me to run HOT. You call the terminal the day before you get there they will run 7 to 10 loads by you to pick from. take one or call the truck load people or call a broker you are totally free to do has you please. RRTS pay you on broker loads they only take 4% of load but they pay you and get the money from the broker for you. After you haul 4 broker loads you must pull a RRTS load or the rate goes up to 25% of load. This truly is a very good company to work for total freedom very good pay I only run MI to FL four days a week 3450 and 16600 a year. Any solo that works all week could pull down 200000 a year easy. I have been with them since feb 2010 all four O/O that started with me are still here that said something. The people that fail here really aren't going to make with any carrier. Drop pay is 1st is free then it 40 at treminals and 80 at customers. You have to do a check in call by 1030 each day for location report and that is it they never hassel you. Some times they ask you to do a city pickup I love this the pay is great like 150 to 300 dollars they pay you the same day no paper work. I can only say the turn over rate is not that high they have a ton freight to haul. They use US exp, CRST, Central Ref, and many other carriers to haul there freight for lack of O/O. Hope this helps because i work here and know what going on."
