Terence did you use a Roadrunner agent or a load board? Had a couple offers from Northern California to Miami or Bayonne NJ in the buck forty range, RR agents. Guy was trying to sweeten the pot by saying I could get a buck a mile out of Miami to Georgia lol.

I'm having a hard time booking outside freight, get a lot of excuses like
    That load is already covered

You're due for a drug test (ironically drug test has to be done during the time I would have picked up that load

    Shipper has bad credit

I'll call you right back ( never hear from them again) lol

then again I talk to other RR owner ops who run 100% broker frieght and are making money hand over fist.

So the terminal to terminal freight don't pay as well? What are you averaging terminal to terminal?

The cheaper T2T's are in the buck fifty range. But if you want to go into tough markets like NYC Miami or Denver for example it's up over two bucks and jingly change.

But even at the low spectrum of $1.5 there is the T2T safety bonus of $0.04 , the fuel discounts which I estimate about $0.04 , if the load is hazmat, add $0.04 and practical miles is about $0.04 more than HHG miles, factor in zero % deadhead loading and reloading at T2T's is another intrinsic value as well.

For my part, I love T2T, can't stand doing map research looking for oddball located customers all over this nation. I like the concept of getting loaded here and having to deliver someplace 2200 miles away I know exactly where it is and where to check in etc.

As far as averages, I just did an 800 mile run at $1.84 and getting reloaded 2200 miles at $1.5 works out to $1.59 but when you add the low side of the intrinsic bennies, it is $1.71 and factoring in no deadhead and safety bonus pushes it up to $1.75 or so and I don't know yet whether the 2200 leg has hazmat yet. .

    Very informative, thank you.

The T2T is what has interested me into Roadrunner. I'm with ABF now, and that's all I do is T2T as a road driver. I'm kinda spoiled with that. Haven't done traditional truckload since 01.
