Hello all. I am coming out of a refresher course on April 20 and have been pre-hired to come on with Roehl. My recruiter told me she will contact me next week with a job offer, after confirming one more employer from my application. Then, I'll be set for orientation in Appleton hopefully the last week of April.
I plan to start with van and then move onto flatbed or curtain-side after 6 to 9 months. I'll be running OTR--staying out for 3 weeks at a time. I want to run pretty hard and live out of my truck-no strings back home and the kids are all grown up. In fact, I plan to take my home time once a month where my daughters live--Chicago, IL, Jacksonville, FL, and Springfield, OH. Does this sound do-able if I get a good dispatcher??
I think I've made a good choice. Anybody have any advice for me about Roehl?
Thanks.

I'm sure its doable. Just explain to them your situation. I'm sure they won't mind letting you do home time at your daughters places. Just make sure you have a place to park the truck nearby that's approved by roehl.
Ethannotezbngrn71 and Bobtail Dylan Thank this. -
i have the 510 also, its good about 75% of the time.
Bobtail Dylan Thanks this. -
How is it going now?? May go to Roehl.
-
Sorry to hear that. Where do you work now?

When you think about going to ANY school, are they responsible to buy everyone's meals? No. Provide meals, maybe.
A student and a new hire (experienced driver) in orientation are two completely different people. Expectations are very different. -
Thank you very much for the details!!! You really helped me with my decision making process.

I was going to give Roehl a shot, but I am out of their hiring area. No exceptions.

I am looking to go to Roehl too. I did not realize they have a hiring area. Hope they hire from OHIO

wichita falls, tx would be a hard spot to get home to with the customers they have in place. Ohio on the other hand will work nicely.
SmokinBoles Thanks this.
