They sound cheap

 

I don't know. I'm cheap. I love second hand stuff and I research before I buy big ticket items.
But I'm not hateful nor am I stupid. I don't know trucking as a business but I've run some other small business and ive worked in many others. The way they go thru employees can only be sustained by the subsidies they get for training. I owe them 6000$. I'd do it again even if it cost me more. I do not exaggerate when I say that EVERY time I went to the service desk in Gary IN in March and Apr of 2019 someone was turning in their keys. 1 of my intake instructors in Appleton WI quit my 1st week there. The office staff in the training building was turning over. It was a complete ####show. Luckily I was trained at Fox Valley tech by an ex Schneider driver who was fantastic. My phase 2 dispatcher was diligent about quizzing me on the things I was supposed to be learning. My OTR trainer Jim was nice and not at all creepy and the company does actual training not teaming so no driving while someone is sleeping.

I’ve heard a few things about Roehl(even applied to them once when I started truck driving). None of those things were good though. IIRC someone here stated they were installing driver cameras in the trucks watching the driver.

 

Yes. Forward and driver facing cameras. When a roehl driver parks they put a ball cap over the camera. When you see one parked look and you will see it.
They must spend a lot on driver monitoring. If you look me up here I've described my experiences elsewhere.

I just wish they could learn to spell. It’s either “Rail” or “Roll”. You can’t have it both ways with this hybrid “Roehl” crap.

 

I'm with you there, I thought it was pronounced "Roe" "Hell" untill I was corrected.

Well I still do think that it’s pronounced that way. What is it? “Roll”?

 

All the adds on the radio pronounce it "rail"
