My biggest concern is the wind, since we are driving there empty... and whether or not they will even let us in. One of the articles I read said they are prepared to deploy the National Guard for flooding... and I am going to the coast.
I guess I'll go and just park it if it gets too bad. -
Most folks out of Florida make a bigger deal out of these deals than Floridiots do. WInd is always a concern (Who the hell runs empty into Florida??) but no more or less than any afternoon thunderstorm could be.
Follow the advised route though I would run 27 out of Bainbridge to 10 and east. -
So the only thing I have to worry about is getting wet.. then getting into a freezing reefer.
-
Thanks for that. They plan my route kinda because I have to fuel where they decree. But we will see how it goes.
-
Once you get your route, pick out a few parking spots along the way, just in case it does get windy out.
stwik, sevenmph, 06driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Don't stand still to long putting a load lock on or else your co-driver will have to chisel you loose...

Don't feel bad, I am home near Gainesville now and delivering a load of glass (that can't get wet) to Tampa in a conestoga on Tuesday, then empty all the way back to Laurinburg, NC(Maxton).NavigatorWife and TravR1 Thank this. -
Describe your truck fully. I want to see if it shows up on the 6 0clock news sitting in a small lake that used to be a parking lot !
stwik, sevenmph, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this. -
For real. I got rained on in MI and when I was in the reefer I felt like I was in a Jack London novel. Boots freezing to the ground, dropping stuff because I can’t feel my fingers, it’s nuts. Then the humidity gets in and it makes it look like a blizzard on the inside. So I picked up a rainsuit for my partner and me.
We aren’t rolling out today after all. Probably some time tomorrow and layover somewhere if needed. -
Just drive until weather confitions or road closures/Police tell you to stop. No point worrying about what may be.
sevenmph, austinmike and TravR1 Thank this.
