I got into a parking lot following Schneider GPS. Called it in they sent a tow.
He proceeded to lookout as I turn out of there. Never touched my vehicle.
They ruled it Preventable accident..i don't understand why they treat driverslike ####
Ruled a preventable accident, but it really wasn't.

What does going into a parking lot have to do with getting a tow?
Did you get stuck?
Why did you go into a place that looked sketchy and wondering if you’d get stuck?tscottme and Savor the Flavor Thank this. -
I ended up trying to get out but didnt feel comfortable bc of driving in the mud, so I called for help.
He came and helped me get out but he didnt tow me. And tbh i didnt know getting stuck is an accident.Magoo1968 Thanks this. -
So basically you did the right thing after making a honest mistake and it’s a preventable accident wow some drivers would tear the whole parking lot up instead. I don’t think this will affect future jobs if you list exactly what happened.
snowlauncher and Chinatown Thank this. -
It’s shouldn’t be marked as a preventable.
Schneider miswrote, should be incident.
They’ll probably bring you back to your terminal for additional testing with an an OSR.
Seen that a few times when I was there.
I think I remember reading at one time they was trying to get any time you called a wrecker, even broke down in a parking lot, as a preventable, say truck wouldn’t start and called for tow to shop.
Or maybe I dreamed it, I can’t remember.Coover and gentleroger Thank this. -
“Recalculating”…Mayhem
This is what happens when you follow a GPS turn for turn..doesn’t matter who’s and trying to blame it on Schneider’s is laughable. Luckily the only wrote you up for a preventable, I’d have canned you. You drove in, you can back out..
After 7 years OTR I still to this day compare gps directions to a map (Google maps satellite view). I find the correct entrance to my location and if it’s a little complicated I write clear directions on a note pad.
I also plot out a plan B just in case I miss the entrance. In other words I familiarize myself with where I’ll be.
Do your homework before you roll and never trust any GPS.
You screw up too many times with Schneider and you’ll be curbside with all your gear waiting on an Uber. -
That cost Schneider lots of money for wrecker to just show up, even though a tow wasn't required.

This is your 2nd job within 3 months. Better make the best of it and hope Schneider doesn't fire you.Last edited: Feb 20, 2023

Kicked him to the curb in Laredo..he had a ton of gear and no money..jsnell, Coover, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If Schneider has to call a tow truck for something that was your fault, which this is, it will be counted as a preventable. Tow trucks are expensive even if they didn’t hook the truck. Doesn’t matter if the GPS took you there. It’s completely your responsibility as the driver to verify the route. Accident/incident, I’m not sure Schneider really distinguishes. In any case, it’s minor, move on and learn from it. It’s not going to affect your future prospects. They’re not going to fire you unless it becomes a pattern or you refuse to accept responsibility.
GreenPete359, tscottme, Savor the Flavor and 4 others Thank this. -
You should have the ability to read the signs directing you to the truck parking area from the off ramp. If you don't, then please turn in your cdl.
If you can't see how you're getting out, don't go in.
Last thought - if you post the customer code of the rest area I will walk you through each mistake you made.TripleSix, tscottme, Turtlelegs and 4 others Thank this.
