Just offer then donuts and coffee if they give chase. :biggrin_25521: Most times depending which state you run if your legal they pass you through. If you do get asked to the scale don't sweat it. Just try to be polite , if you run log books make sure they are neat and legible. Most times they will hand it back and say have a nice day. Depends on the cop. Good luck out there and try not to daydream while driving you may pass the girl flashing you in the car.

Here in Ca if you run the scale and get caught, its written as failure to follow traffic control, same as a rd light or stop sign. If they dont come out your ok. When they call you in bring your log book, reg, Ins, BoL. If your current they send you on your way.

They love to use that at many of them.

One of our drivers got the "Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device" ticket. Pricey.

Yeah, and more times than not, they make you turn around and go back to get weighed.

In my home state of LA, its $500.00 plus any other fees (I've seen it go over $3000.00). There is an exception if you inadvertently bypasses a scale and return to the scale voluntarily without the assistance of law enforcement you will not be assessed any penalty for bypassing the scale.

    Best Regards

Yeah, that median scale, I was aware of. It is clearly marked multiple times on both direction. Even in heavy fog it is clearly visible. The one I ran was on the Westbound lane before you go up Lookout Pass. There is a counterpart eastbound scale on the Idaho side.

The one there headed west is usually used for boat checks during the summer months.

Funny story... I was on Highway 87, southbound to Island Park, and there were six girls all lined up flashing me on the side of the road.

I didn't care that they tried to distract me, I was upset that they got so close to the traveled part of the roadway though. Grinds my gear when people encroach any part of my lane.
