Don't be late to Sysco in Norman, OK. Their late fee schedule is $100 for 1hr, $200 for 2 hours, and $300 for 3+ hours. Another driver here was arguing about it. Guys appt was for 9am and he showed up at 1pm. Sign on the door to the receiving desk even tells you what to expect when late.
Haven't posted in a while, will try to be a little less arrogant. Judged wanted to share this story. Picking up at Freeze N Store in Springdale, Ar.. Been parked in long line for an hour or so when I decided to walk up to see what's up. Truck and reefer backed to dock completely engulfed in flames with F.D. putting it out. Fire is now out with F.D. gone. The entire facility was evacuated and just now went back in. No one is saying anything about loading and dispatch wants me to stay put. Mute point really as I am stuck in line.
So, this trailer I got from another driver this morning has three bad tires. One of the inner tires is bald and two others have really bad uneven wear. I should have caught this morning, but I didn't take a good look at the tires. Yeah I know, but I had just woken up and was ready to get rolling to do another relay in San Antonio the next day. Stopped at the TA in Hillsboro, Tx and got it wrote to get fixed. My DM wanted me to send a freedom with load number and truck number I swapped with to try and get me something for it. Told her I didn't want to do that because I should have caught this morning and I didn't and I'm not putting it on the other for my mistake. Also, this trailer was most likely dropped at JBS that way anyway. This was my planned stop anyway and getting fixed so the next guy don't have to deal with it. Now, if I would have slowed down a few mintues this morning and caught it, I would have let them put the fault on the previous driver, but I didn't, so, it's my fault I'm correcting.
Ignoring the fact that the tire is bald, if you see a dimple in a tire, get it replaced asap. That is a symptom of the belts are giving away and could separate. I've have never seen a dimple in a tire before and asked what caused that.
Lol. The tire guy was like your best option is to replace all 8 tires. I laughed and said that's between you and JCT. 3 for sure are bad (the ones I found), two are questionable (according to TA), and just discovered a 6th that has a nail buried deep in the tread along the edge of the side wall, but doesn't appear to be losing air.
