Hey, do any of you guys know how much these poultry loads pay? The company I’m with now pays 78% if you have your own truck. Didn’t ask them 78% of what? Safe travels my friends!! Just looking for ballpark figures, doesn’t have to be to the penny. And, if you are percentage, do you get fsc?
Hey Guys. What's your take in the ELD mandate? Are you running elogs yet? I've seen some pretty interesting comments and theories so far, what do you think? Got the official "congratulations" email this morning from JCT. Looking forward to being back on the road.
I say JCT does elogs pretty good. You don't get harassed like you hear people talk about driver managers at other companies calling them today hey why aren't you moving you still have hours. I drive 8 and 1/2 to 9 hours a day I'm constantly using my 70 instead of doing 34s. I've yet to be called and told hey why aren't you still moving we still have a couple hours left on your 11. The only time I get something even close to that as if I'm on an important load like Tyson JBS or Walmart and the load is pretty tight I'll get a message just confirming that I'm okay for otd.
Also, if you don't have the available HOS to make OTD, just be honest with them and they will work for a swap. Also, people complain about the elog, but the problem is the HOS. Elog is just a method of recording your HOS. This doesn't mean that I believe it should be mandated because I don't. It should be up to each company owner weather or not to use them.
Thanks! I personally don't see a problem with it, even though I've ran paper logs my entire driving career. Seems like it would make keeping a log easier if anything.
I was following the JCT threads when they were first transitioning over to ELD back in the day, so many veteran JCT drivers quit saying there was no way to make honest money at $0.9 per mile unless you were on paper running about 900 miles per day.
If it wasn't for the fact I'm out of hours right now, I would still be driving. Just one of those days where I'm not tired at the end of my clock. I believe that there shouldn't be any clock on truck drivers and hold us to the up most strictest of standards.
You couldn't legally run 900 miles on paper anyways unless you were in Texas on the 85 miles an hour freeways Non-Stop... So how would that be honest money lol
