Pretty much. By that time happens, the motor has cooled off about 20 degrees (according to the gauge). But I also notice that usually happens if I have to turn the turn the truck off almost right way after stopping (which I do usually do) or if the idle timer happens to catch me. If I let the truck idle for just a couple mintues, then the chances of the issue is greatly reduced.
On a second note, yesterday, I was just getting into town where I live, and I get a phone call from my DM. She says she hates to ask me, but she is required to ask all her drivers on "hometime" status. She says they are offering $1,000 to drivers to come back that day. I said are you serious? I'm not even at the house yet after being gone for almost 4 months. Make it 5 grand and you got a deal. That didn't happen, so, here I am at home. I also told her that deal would be easier to take if it was after Christmas already. -
Yeah my DM called and said the same thing. -
What did they do at the shop?
-
Tires, apu, inverter, SABOTAGE by tech computer. Anyhue first three for sure. I know for a fact its possible to mess with fuel mileage through programming. Mystery
-
New tires would/could cause a drop but not that substantial. Did you buy fuel after leaving the shop? Alignment after tires? Wind conditions? There has to be some kind of explanation.

Fuel at the qt but i usually get good mpg off that fuel
-
Just refueled at flying j xt 18 i40 oklahoma. My mpg dropped even further. Ill be in the hole on this trip from fuel. I can get about 900 out of a full tank. I haven't even hit the heavy mtns yet.
