Don't look at it from a pure mileage point of view. I look at it like... This is how much money this trip is going to pay me. Then I do my best to keep as much of it as possible. If that means a little longer but more efficient route, it doesn't bug me.
MachoCyclone and crxdc Thank this. -
That being said if they paid practical...........
CannonballAA Thanks this. -
Something I'm fighting for now.Kamkor and MachoCyclone Thank this.
-
JCT will route you around I-70 and pay the extra miles.....BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK.
-
Not always. During the summer, I got denied the reroute for the miles. Still ran the 80 though as I didn't feel like make the hard slow climb with 44k in the box.
-
Three same holds true for loads that run across I-90 in the NW. JCT wants you to drop down to I-80, but if you don't ask for the mileage adjustment, you won't get the OOR miles.
-
Your DM sux. LOL.
I never run I-70 even in the summer. I still get my OOR miles. Hell, one time I wanted to take I-70 back in June or July just to show my wife that part of the country (as it's absolutely gorgeous) and I got a phone call asking why I was going that way. It was a one-time thing tho as I only got 5.7 MPG to Denver on that trip.CannonballAA and Kamkor Thank this. -
It was the planner not approving it. Kept saying the shipper wasn't approving it. I said whatever, the customer doesn't get a say in the route I take.CannonballAA Thanks this.
