Running With Shipex

Just plugging away out here. Hope everyone had a great 4th! Happy birthday America!
I was at home celebrating our 4th of July fireworks off the lake last weekend as we do every year. BBQ with friends and family. Good times!
Now back on the road with another Fersenius load heading to Marlborough Massa2shizts. oops. I mean Massachusetts.

Here's some snapshots of the events. My wife and I, friends and family.

 

So I delivered in Marlborough MA and before arriving they preloaded me to pickup in Bristol PA (270 mile DH) with a load heading to Olive Branch Mississippi. This load is a dry load of cosmetic products weighing in around 9000 lb, drop and hook. After pick up i only had about 40 minutes on my clock before needing a 30 minute break. So i go into the ol faithful GPS looking for the closest place i can park and either chill for the night or break and move on. It pops up this place Bensalem Travel plaza, 8 miles away, thinking it's one of those turnpike service centers i plug it in and head out. I get to the exit off the turnpike and turn left down some narrow street, my experience kicks in and immediately I'm like oh great what in the heck did I get myself into here, some dive of a place in Philadelphia or what? Of course it's dirt parking lot, garage, fuel, paid parking and drop lot/storage for Hub containers, Martin and Ruan in here. I pull in and ask the attendant at security what did I get into, can i park for 30 min and go. He said no. He said might as well stay it's only $20 a night, got restrooms and 5 star dining over here. I laughed (wait til you see the 5 star dinner, pic below) Not having much time to go anywhere else and pushing up against my 70 anyway might as well call it a night at least it was somewhat secure and away from the main turnpike. I joke about the dinner but it's got a philly cheese steak that was yum- ooo!

 

I believe it. I been on worse but it definitely was not what I was expecting. Lol

 

Delivered in Olive Branch and then got another load to Grantsville UT. 1659 miles loaded with 13 miles DH. That is one of the things I like about being here, going out and coming right back. Not a bunch of short hauls in-between. Just my preference and got lucky because that is how they run ya.
