I usually have the opposite problem
I have Drivewyze and in places like South Dakota on I-29 North I often get bypassed by Drivewyze but South Dakota's sign usually says "Truck must enter weigh station". I usually go ahead and enter but have bypassed when I am close on weight (only when Drivewyze says bypass) and have never been chased down.

I could sit here and type out several hundred words but I won't. GO inside a scale sometime and ask the scalemaster to show you how pre pass works. I have done it.
-
I know how PrePass works. Ive read the fine manual and seen how it works in the scale houses. I've talked with people about it while waiting for my number to be called. It's only as smart as the people who are using it.
If the scalemaster goes to take a dump then PrePass will just continue to do it's thing whether they are there or not.scottied67 Thanks this. -
So you have seen the floating line and the 3 modes showed to you? It took me close to 30 minutes to see the whole system as used by the State Of Mississippi.
-
What difference does it make? How do you know for sure what it's doing when you approach the scale?
-
What might be ok in Oklahoma will get you a reaming in Colorado. Maybe you pass the same scale on a daily basis and know how they do things... I wouldn't expect it to be the same any place else.

I will share my state of AZ. experience. I got the truck bypass weigh station sign pre pass gave me a red. I kept truckin, till I seen the blue lights. Per the direct words of DOT there follow in cab signals.
Several weeks later I left KC with way too much on the drives I wasn't shoveling. Got the other side of oak grove petro took my chances and hit another red light. Knowing what was coming I took my chances and hammered down it worked out.
It really depends on who is working as to the outcome. Go with your gutBoostedTeg and TripleSix Thank this. -
This is for the operator. You as a driver only have a transponder. If the system is on and once your trucks transponder gets interrogated your either going to get a red or green light.
-
No sir. If you have PrePass, you must obey the in cab transponder rather than the electronic sign. That’s a common trick in Louisiana...Prepass flashes red, sign says to bypass, and Smokey Bear sitting on the onramp. $500 ticket. When you try to protest, he will point out to you the sign that says if you have Prepass, you must obey your in cab transponder. Smokey will be running the scale sign from inside his car and there will be no one in the coupe.
If the Prepass redlights you and the scale is closed, it will automatically send you through the bypass lane inside the scale, so it’s no great loss.BoostedTeg, scottied67, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this. -
