It sure would be nice if they had some sort of helpful program for those of us who didn't go through Schneider finance. They put all this crap on crossroads about maintenance avail and such. Looks great until you stop by an sni shop. Then you're told, "we don't work on IC trks". Then you call em in Green Bay any they say there is no maint program. Then why is it on crossroads??!!!!

Sure hope they set up the 6x2 right. Otherwise the cost in fuel savings is going to be negated by the insane amount of towing they will be doing when these tractors get stuck EVERYWHERE. I mean think about how bad some of these lots and drop yards we go to are.

The only way I would consider a 6x2 setup is if the tag axle could be lifted (not just airbags dumped) and the single driving axle had a true locker in it that could be operated from the dash. But, knowing how little SNI will want to spend on these setups, it will probably have a half-***ed airbag dump on the tag and some kind of an automated locker (if any at all) in the driving axle that will eventually fail and be useless. I helped a Conway dig out of a truck stop parking lot in a snowstorm one time. He got stuck on flat ground that every 6x4 truck passed through with, no problem, and the only way for him to move was to chain up and even then he was having trouble.

Air release 5th wheel could have some interesting results. Of course it will have some safety interlocks to prevent drivers from accidentally dumping a trailer on the middle of the freeway, but it would still make me a little nervous I think.

Yeah I was told about that promotion. It was $3400 for a new truck or $2000 for a used one.

It's set up to deflate the airbags moving the weight to the live Axle that is equipped with a locker. The driver that drives this truck hasn't run into a issue. Been in it since Jan.

they say 15 min then off duty or sleeper berth. Cant say thats "official" but I recall learning this at orientation in Indy? Unless you are actively unloading under driver hand unload , at that point then its on duty not driving.

Not official by any means, but I kick that thing on duty as I put it in gear pulling out of the customers gate, it shows 5 minutes on duty time before auto kicking me on driving. Never had anyone say a word about it. Hand unload, of course I would show the time I spent on the dock. I will eek every second out of my hours, never know when its gonna be that difference between you making it home or not when you want to be.

Log roughly 8 mins that's all it roughly takes to get in the gate at times. Then just go off duty since usually your not sitting long enough to make worth being on sleeper line. If your running paper logs then it's in 15 min intervals. Day should look like this wake up 15 min pretrip if u decide to get still 15 min. Get to consignee 8 mins doesn't matter load delv drop n hook, done for evening 5-8 min post trip. Call it a day. Some drivers just flag post trips I'm not chancing Mr dot asking me to show him a under 5 min post trip. Also if u get fuel during trip log it like your doing it after u fuel just remember to go off duty if u go inside.

Even hand unload just show 5-8 mins. hand unloading is a mofo and can take hours to unload. Also a tip if u get to a customer that has lumpers utilize them even if says driver unload. You might get $100 to unload but they'll pay that lumper $200. Total hs. After lumper service gets u a total call Schneider lumper line to get a Tcheck
