It's a good guideline. I would also suggest that time with an employer be taken into account...i.e., if you get paid weekly, but have been with the employer for longer than a couple years, I'd up the notice to 2 weeks. Of course, it depends on what your job entails, too. I think maybe those guidelines are a bit overkill if you're sweeping the floors & cleaning toilets versus controlling departments or managing a large, involved process.
In short (if it's not too late for that!), use your brain for something besides keeping your skull from imploding when you give notice. There's really no hard & fast rule. If you aren't concerned about a reference, who cares what notice you give? -
I ask everyone how many weeks would you want to be given ? If the company is going to fire you do they give a notice ? Now I have always given a notice but it is dependent on when I start my next job as to how long.
mickeyrat Thanks this. -
well, I also think a lot depends on your relationship with your boss. On good terms then give them 2 weeks(IMO) request to be able to work that time in full, BUT have it set with the job you are going to to start early if needed. CYA!!!! CYA!!!!mickimause Thanks this.

backhauls on a home daily dedicated can be a scary prospect. Apparently we snagged a ch robinson load that was scheduled to be live loaded last wednesday. Live unload too, for tomorrow. dropped as a relay in obetz. DBl then messaged after stating I may run that anyway after my scheduled run tomorrow to cleveland. BUT I ran saturday preventing 34 hr reset so I am running recap this week. end of tomorrow after picking up 9h24m I'll have an estimated 20 hours on my 70 and then next two days where I dont gain any( sat two days last week, loads postponed!!!)

apparently OOR will no longer be a factor for bonus. they supposed to be changing OOR to MPG.

I plan out my days the night before. When it comes to parking, I run early hours, so my day usually ends before 6pm. I have 2 options for my day planned out. The near one, if I am running slow or get tired early, and the farther one based on what I prefer to get done in a day. I make it a point not to run more than 8.5 to 9hrs a day, so I never have to do a 34 hour reset while on the road. I stay out 3 weeks at a time, so I am running recap hours for 2 weeks. I have pretty good stamina, so I usually only stop once a day. Unless I am running around switching up live loads/unloads or other delays, the majority of my days are only 10-11 hours. Back to the question, I am usually parking so early in the day that I have my pick of spots.

I prefer running early for that reason as well. Parked later than I wanted tonight, but I'm in Iowa, so still had pretty much my choice of spots.tynodine Thanks this.

Same here, I hate looking for spots so I start early. I actually do 12-13 hours a day, mainly cause I'm out for 5 days so restart every week. I would do 14/day if I know 100% I'm going to make it home on the fifth day. I'm in iowa too lol plenty of empty spots around here
mickimause and tynodine Thank this. -
Same here. There is no reason to do a 34hr restart on the road. A little bit of time management goes a long way. And you can still run 3k miles a week legally.
