Right but surely all that takes is a message to your DBL. I mean truckers sit all the time.

Yep, a simple message is all it takes. Same thing for going OOR to scale or for maintence. One quick message and they add a routing point, you get paid for the miles and it won't count against your OOR. My DBL tells me most guys don't tell him to add routing points. He works hard for his drivers but if he doesn't know about something he can't fix it.

They may have added it behind the scenes - you can tell by looking at your settlement at the break up of miles. If it's during support shift you must explicitly ask them to put in the routing. Support shift may tell you to talk to your dbl in the morning.

It also looks like we just did the "hey I just graduated from college and now I need a job" hiring surge for support shift. I had to explain the HOS and how I couldn't "just wait till tomorrow morning" for an answer.

I tend to keep messages of importance to the minimum after hours. Anything more than a yes or no seems to confuse them.

I use to do a backhaul of potatoes to South Dakota every once and a while, when I was running my own truck. They would dump them just like the paper.

Almost as bad as Gary, for the paking lot. One restroom, no shower, vending machines. Lots of places to eat close, though. Good Mexican place across from WalMart.

a shower is provided but you need your own towel, and I thought there were 2 restrooms, I heard the concierge service will turn down your sheets for a small fee:biggrin_25523:
