Is there a new policy that I missed that requires you to have a padlock on a trailer when leaving a oc. Last night was at the gate trying to leave Charlotte and was asked if my trailer was padlocked. I said no it was a empty and was told it still had to be locked before I could leave. I understand a loaded trailer but what's the thinking behind padlocking a empty?
-
When I worked at Schneider it was already a policy. But they never check.
-
Supposed to keep anyone from putting anything illegal or dangerous in an empty trailer.
I've never heard of Schneider asking or enforcing it though.
Then again with the IPO coming up after the new year they'll probably get more strict with enforcement.
Of course as we know it's selective like others I'm suresealevel Thanks this. -
Or just a new guy working the gate. Or a new STM flexing their muscle.
-
It is also selectively enforced. -
sealevel, Home_on_wheels and rickybobby Thank this.

So lock the trailer so the rioters damage both the trailer and the freight
Home_on_wheels Thanks this. -
I just found it odd to be locking a empty but I get it. I forgot about the whole riot thing. Too busy locking my truck doors in that area.
milehunter43 Thanks this.
