if you a new driver though its easier and better to get it before your initial license is issued. No extra fees fro the added endorsements later!!

im gonna hit my 1 yr this year with central. im local. i was thinking of working intermodal locally in chicago just to learn the rails. you guys think its easy work? you think i can make 1000 before taxes $$? i got my hazmat but no tanker yet. ill get it if I need it. which makes no sense if im not in a tanker.

You should easily gross 1k a week. Tanker is required because of the portable bulk containers. The fed now looks at those containers as a tank and requires you to have the endorsement to haul them. Therefore, schneider has made it a requirement for all intermodal drivers to carry the endorsement.

thinking about the local owner operator intermodal for the chicago,IL area. So its 2 days training with a local? Im hearing they are one of the good ones for the intermodal area because their chassis are new and good shape. Im all about being home daily and weekends off. Especially being an o/o ill feel better.

As far as I know the only O/O or IC that SNI does for container hauling is through their Port Dray program. I'd rather haul from the railyard as opposed to from the port any day.
