I understand the sentiment, but I'm pretty sure any type of trucking is dangerous to life and limb.

We have a son who will be deploying in two weeks. I'm very proud and excited for him but my butt cheeks haven't gotten a work out like this in a long time.

I had a buddy from driving school go right to Schneider Tank Division. He stayed 6 months and after getting run all over the north east and NYC, he left to go to ATS to go flatbed. He ran de icer to LaGuardia ALOT and just couldn't get out of the city. He has said that he really enjoyed tank work but he said he wasn't making the money they promised as he was constantly in NJ/NY traffic. He seems much happier doing the flatbed work and is running more mid west. Hope this may help you out some.

I appreciate the info! That is another consideration regarding where the company makes runs too. Definitely don't want earnings cut short because the truck is always sitting in traffic.

You probably can "run the system" if you ask in advance. This way you run all over the country and not on dedicated accounts.

Some companies/terminals let you do that. I think @19d ran the system with Schneider Bulk. @ethos may have with Trimac.
I did it with a reefer outfit that had dedicated short run accounts driving day cabs in the southeast. I requested it and got a sleeper and ran all over the country and made a lot more money than those daycabbers.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind doing that every once in a while but there's already a guy doing it out of our terminal and I surely don't want to step on any toes as a new driver.
