I was trying to back up in one of truck stop spots, long story short scratched a trailer (because GOAT) at the bottom, metal peeling about 5 inches, damage is only cosmetic. The driver took a picture of my license and plates, said is going to go after my company’s insurance to repair the scratch. I already have an accident (not at fault), but had to pay the company for damages of the truck). How badly will it affect me? Will it increase company’s insurance premium? I work for my friend’s friend. I’m really afraid he’s going to fire me.

Did you get your own pictures, if not a 5in. scratch can turn into a real mess?

You had to pay the company for an accident that wasn't your fault?
    Time to change companies.
Working for a friends, friend, is a red flag.

You let a company take money from you or an accident that wasn't your fault? So they probably collected from the other parties insurance company for damages, and took money from you.

How new to driving are you?

    Tb0n3 Thanks this.

There’s a metal strip right on top of 2x2x2 rivets under red reflector. I peeled it like top of butter with a knife, probably 1/3 in thick. I was noticeable when it had a hangnail before he took it off.
