    I've had several Gerbers in that era you speak of and yes they will go through metal bands several times at the expense of wrecking and actually bending over the serrated tips. Perfect knife i guess for metal bands, $20 bucks and into the trash. 420 stainless... meh.

    The S30v stuff is ok but might as well buy a Benchmade, SOG or SpyderCo

    I'm okay with it, the hand has some good points... no pun intended, lol. I just remember sawing through those metal straps no problem, but then again, I'm no weakling after serving in the USA INF. But I'll tell ya, if I had to face a bunch of cartel scumbags or tweekin' crackerheads in the ghetto with a blade, I'd rather have a BIG OL' RAMBO KNIFE to do it, lol. Maybe a "pistola" or an "assault rifle" to help even the odds, lol... :eek:
