I just got my cdl and supposed to start with Werner soon. However, I keep seeing terrible reviews of them and their horrible pay and second guessing it. I'm extremely worried now, plus they're based out on fontana which is pretty far. I wanted something close to san diego and looked everywhere on indeed but heard nothing back from them leaving werner my only choice as I was desperate. I'm am fairly new and worried about driving ability and was hoping amazon would hire me but I failed the interview. Any help would be great
Second guessing

Every big company are about the same starting out. Just do your best, don’t hit anything. Stick it out a year. Mii ok rr if you can. They got million milers there too they stayed.
Only thing different about mega starter companies now are the truck and color.Ddh77777, bryan21384, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you have an offer from Weiner....errrrr...Werner -- by all means, take it -- & don't look back.
A bad day at Werner is still better than a good day at Western Express.Trucker61016, UturnGirl, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this. -
There are worse ways to go than Werner. Every company has it's cheerleaders, and it's naysayers.

"Horrible pay" complaints come from 'drivers' who don't understand the pay structure, don't plan their trips, and don't work efficiently.
Lots of people say Schneider's pay sucks, but for 14 years I was able to post pay stubs comparable to any other otr job while getting home weekly. If you learn the job and then work the job, the pay will be fine. After a year you can look at options.Lonesome, Speedy356, navypoppop and 3 others Thank this. -
You're in San Diego and you Fontana is far? How far do you think Fontana is? Wait til you get a load to the other side of the country.Lonesome Thanks this.

You need to not read reviews. They are oftentimes one-sided. When you become a trucker, you create your own story. Point is, if you read reviews, you will paralyze your trucking journey. I endorse going to Werner. Follow the advice from the others above and you'll be ok.Lonesome, Speedy356, Ddh77777 and 1 other person Thank this.

Uber from Fontana yard to Amtrak Riverside, train to San Diego about 3.5-4 hours.

Go south of the border Tijuana, your 100% guaranteed to get hired crossing any truck to the USA. They won’t even do a background check nor fill out an application. Easy peazy.
Trucker61016 and Concorde Thank this. -
Reviews are only the bitter end of a story. Content people dont write many reviews, unless the are brown nosing or hoping for recruitment bonus.
Unless the review recommends the fried squirrel plate, then its because i'm bored
