On the other hand, I purchased a select tuck back in 13.... a had to use the warranty. They basically rebuilt the bottom half of my engine....after I paid for head bolts and miscellaneous things it cost me about $1300...
I purchased a truck from SelectTrucks and they offered me a 2yr/200k warranty from Premium 2000 for $7400! I accepted the offer and had some stuff done under warranty (new DEF tank, front differential rebuilt, emission work) and never got denied work. If the dealer follows their protocol, they’ll pay.
Factory warranty yes. Aftermarket warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Don't get the lawnmower engine either. Get a DD15.
Go to international used trucks,. Ask to see the computer print out of the percentage of the filters def, look at everything even idle times
I'll check all that. Was told 7200 hours on 350K miles engine. Sounds good to me. Most trucks I looked at this mileage had 9,000 hours or more.
Pre CARB, I'd say no to the Select Trucks warranty. I bought a used Penske FLD120 with 500K on it. I ran it to 1.3 Million with no issues. No warranty needed. Today? WIth the DPF and DEF, and the EGR? Those things are expensive to fix. That's what you need to worry about. Transmissions, axles, and everything else is easy and cheap to fix. Those emissions components get pricy. The question is, how much can you repair yourself? If you don't bat an eye at changing a turbo, then you might not need that warranty. It's a gamble.
2013 DD15 purchase 1.6 years ago 30 days out of Selecteucks dealer 20k worth of emissions work done under warranty. Now seriously looking for pre 06 truck where I can bypass some features with a $1.5 resistor. save yourself from anything past a S60 from Detroit it’s all crap and expensive to fix.
