Can it chain its own tires in the winter? Probably not. I can see it now. I just sit in the passenger seat and my only job is to put on tire chains when it tells me to. Yuck.

See? You do have a purpose. It can't fuel or wash itself either. Think of it as a giant baby.

I bet self driving trucks mean huge pay increases. Elon Musk says his truck doesn't break down. You won't need insurance ever since it will be perfect, more efficient so less on fuel. All the money saved on insurance, fuel and maintenance goes right into the driver's pocket. And these trucks stay loaded every minute, so you get 7000 miles per week. All positives.

The Feds need their share too so I'm sure there will be a whole slew of new laws for self-driving trucks. Hefty fines if it runs over its allowable hours or skips its 30. Just because it is a machine doesn't mean the Feds are going to stop collecting.

I think its a horrible idea just wait til one of those things kills someone because it cant be programmed to respond to every random human error scenrio.

What if a deer runs in front? Does it go through all the sensors on the truck to figure the best course of action? Does it brake hard, change lanes or forget the deer. So many scenarios.
