I have the worst luck with red lights. The one in town isn't a smart light and takes forever to change. But if I'm in the truck and coming through town I always get that sucker red. In my 4 wheeler it's always green Lol

I like the title of this thread. Semi-serious blunder. Nice little pun. Look at it this way. A blunder that cost nothing to learn from is way better than getting an expensive education by having an accident. Every driver has or has had issues/mistakes that they can take down the road with them so they know not to repeat. Nothing like learning from a cheap blunder.

Maybe for us, but for a new guy I can see where this would’ve rattled him a bit, especially with a load on board.

Other than more following distance, that’s the best you can really do. Most yellow times out on the highway run around 4-5 seconds. You aren’t stopping a loaded truck from speed that quick.

Now there are some saving graces. As one poster mentioned, you have crosswalk lights with timers. Those help. You also have the warning signs roughly a quarter mile back from some intersections. If it doesn’t flash “red signal ahead”, you’ll get through the green if you keep your speed up.

I'm going to find out where to order one.
If you find out, let me know.

Don't quit, learn your lesson and don't repeat it. Once you get a CDL any plan that requires you to hurry up, is a bad plan.
