least my paycheck is fatter than yours; and you pissed off your dm and mine gave me a fatter mile load while you're still griping about turning the truck around. Ok, sit at loves all day long while your DM/dispatcher INTENTIONALLY delay in giving you a load. Then you're calling "wheres my load at? im tired of sitting here" 10-4 driver

The best thing is just don't touch the qualcomm til you're stopped. Even then be careful which messages you touch because touching the message is the same as 'reading' the message.
I learned the hard way one day, tired and hungry, smelly and stinky, just finished a load and had my sights set on a shower and big fat buffett dinner down the road, got a message, triple red exclamation points, "WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP, PLS CALL THIS NUMBER...." Soon as I called it, was dispatched to go 56 miles with a one hour time limit for a drug test.
So after that I was selective with which messages I would read, especially the ones that appeared to be handwritten out as opposed to canned macro types. What you do is keep going til you only have like 20 minutes left on your clocks then read it lol they cannot force you to break the law.driverdriver and sherlock510 Thank this. -
@Scttoied67 - great advice.
Unless OP isn't telling us the full story it sounds like a dispatch error.
I mean even as a company driver getting pulled off a load that close to the pick up just doesn't work. Too much of a inconvenience and we all know that. They can keep that extra $45 to drive back, don't need it.scottied67 Thanks this. -
This is the first time I refused. I started at 0:300 to make two deliveries and I was down two 2 hours on my 14 not going to make it for one. Two, I probably would have done it if she wasn't so rude and this isn't my DM this is another drivers DM and I think she does Lease so there ya go with that. By the way I'm back on the yankee candle load so the only sitting I'm doing is a 8-2 split and running through the night.

Not it sure where you worked in the past but didn't happen like that. I'm still on the yankke candle load. My DM had no idea this was happening I think she tried to snake it for a lease guy. Keep assuming and doing anything and everything your company tells you to do. -
She put service failure on there but my DM is saying it's for the company not me so idk what to believe but I've been in the industry ing enough to know there's about. 98% chance it's on my company record. I know what's right and I know what's wrong, but I'm not just some "company driver" driving a truck for then to get rich because it's a hot load paying $5.00 a mile and in getting less then 10% of that. I have a license and a record with three different law unforced ends agencies waiting for me to come rolling down 10 mph over the speed limit. Not going to chance that I'm already in warm water for a speeding ticket warning 4 months ago.

Im going to say something you may not like:
A lesson will soon be learned but I don't think it will be you teaching/showing the DM the lesson..
I think you will be instructed to "clean out your truck"..
They will route a team in and at some rotten truck stop in the middle of nowhere you will be standing w a suitcase and your cards will be all shutoff..
Then you can decide who is about to tell who..what who is going to do/not do?
Keep your bags packed and travel lite..i also suggest you carry some CASH and comfortable shoes for your walk home.
Good luck.gpsman and bigkev1115 Thank this. -
This is just another one of those "modern day " situations, where companies can pull this kind of garbage. Years ago, I don't ever remember that happening, as once I was dispatched on a load, there was no way to get in touch with me until I got there. Not to say that I didn't have loads cancel, but never "mid-flight" and a push of a button will make everything right. Sounds like a lot of driving for nothing, newbies, take note!!!!

At least she was nice with a service failure, she could ve said take your truck to so and so and stage it, get your belongings. We re getting you a bus ticket home.
