They represent the law, they’re not THE law, as many think of themselves.

I’m not talking about reason for stop like you are guilty for speeding but just some one wanting to check you for an obvious lie like that tire bulge.

A lot of places have local cops that are certified to inspect. I know Kansas has quite a few running around because they did a news story about how local departments could now help the short staffed highway patrol by doing commercial vehicle inspections.

 

Alot of counties in Wisconsin have a cop or two that are trained to do DOT inspections.
I've met a few over the years. Lol

It’s what makes ducking that scale in Olathe extra fun. Not only do you hafta watch out for DOT, you hafta watch out for the city kitties too!

 

Lol i know the one! I HATE that scale and area. Only one worse is the northen davenport scale. Every single time i take the north scale i get a level 1. I always use the south one because of it.
