Hopefully people will boycott that craphole. When they don’t have any freight coming into their crime ridden cesspool and no one to shake down, maybe they’d leave us the hell alone.

NO you don't agitate the situation by being an idiot, you deal with this in court or file against the cops after they play their games. I know there is a lot of interoperability between agencies and they could hold that truck up for hours if they want. Asking questions or telling them your rights only pisses on their shoes and pissing them off.cke, D.Tibbitt, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
They’re rights don’t interfere with my rights and I don’t respect the law enforcement as much as I once did because of their own actions.
Kinda like some truckers.
Had a local earlier about crash into me in my pickup because he had his phone up and texting and the phone was way above steering wheel, and he swerved into gravel on shoulder after i laid on horn.Sirscrapntruckalot, JolliRoger, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
Illinois (chicago area specifically) is a cesspool.
I saw a deal on FB about a city cop writing a driver a $750 ticket for parking at an Aldies overnight.
This Aldies is directly across the street from a Thortons truck stop, how it that a no truck route? I used to automatically support cops, but the more ya know, the more i see cops doing inexcusable things with no repercussions. -
I grew up just 50 miles west of that #### hole city .. I had to go get a friend's truck & trailer 1 night because he took a load of corn into Chicago Corn Products.. a/k/a Chicago Corn Palace.. they pulled him over on LaGrange Rd said his mud flaps looked low .. made him drive about 8 miles to a cement plant's scale to weigh him he knew he was legal because he scaled at the elevator where he loaded.. they said he was 1200lbs over weight he argued with them showed them is weigh out scale ticket that was time stamped.. they didn't belive him arrested him said his DL was revocked and had the truck impounded .. and hauled him to jail... they kept in in the city jail for 3 days he had to hire a lawyer to prove his DL was vailed.. had to pay a 830 over weight ticket plus 300.00 release fee ... all for a 250.00 load for corn
Moral of the story is just like the title of this thread.. its all nothing but a shake down.. if you think your gonna play Perry Masion and sas em back.. they will school you on you lack of respect for their laws
I've never really pulled a refeer but I've heard stories about what you do or don't do when you go to the Water Street Market -
My only thought was "Who the hell is brave enough to sleep in Dixmoor?" That whole area was a gun and knife club when I lived near there 40+ years ago, and I know it hasn't gotten any better!RedForeman, cke, JonJon78 and 6 others Thank this.

All I know about Chicago suburbs is they kept running me off from abandoned parking lots..city ordinances.. forget that place..will do my best to avoid it now that I know this info..Looks like they are finding new revenue streams.
cke, Dave_in_AZ and Vampire Thank this. -
Wow what a f ing bu. sh1T COP. I cannot believe they have the time to mess with a trucker. They must really want to stay out of the bad neighbor hoods and try and keep busy so they do not have to go to the 911 calls.
-
#### that is some crazy ### stuff. I can believe it but I don't understand how people put up with that stuff. I would had done the same thing, F that guy and his shakedown.

Did you end up in jail? Nothing much at the end of what happened?
