Is it mostly reefer loads that end up waiting the longest to be unloaded?

I never would have thought that a receiver would leave a trucker waiting for days to be unloaded.... :biggrin_2554:

For a while when teaming with my brother we had a fairly regular gig with a 7:00 pm appointment to pick up a live load near LA that was a "hot" JIT load going to Alabama or Mississippi. The catch was that the shipper had 4 docks and would schedule 8 trucks for outbound shipments AND 8 trucks for inbound shipments ALL AT 7:00 P.M.!!! The warehouse was small, so inbound trucks with containers from the port would have to come in and unload into open space, then bring in an outbound truck to load that freight before another inbound container could come in and unload...

... sometimes we would wait until 2-3 am before we could hit the dock...

... and of course if we were last in line it didn't change our appointed delivery time on a JIT load.

I've never had an issue with a Tyson load unless it's a live load

I got stuck at a yogurt plant in Ohio for 16 hours one time. It was my load home too, so while I got a bit frustrated had I asked to be taken off the load (which my DM did offer) home-time would get pushed back. Catch 22, if there ever was one.

That wait was finally bested by a 72 hour layover in South Carolina due to a long unload time, and my next loads product not being ready yet. That one really tested my patience.

Well the funny (and confusing thing about that particular load) it was corn chips and taco shells
