Shipper forklift driver damaged my reefer trailer roof,I took pictures and talked to the HR of the company who did promise to fix my trailer with a written email!Shipper told me to get atleast two quotes from different repairers which came out to $6800 and $6950.As usual shipper took the lowest amount for fixtures,It's been since January 26th of 2022 my trailer was at shop and no progress for repairs.I called the shipper and ask if the check can be cut under my name, but she says thats not the procedure and asked me to take my trailer to Cincinnati which almost 2400 miles away!!!What should I do am kind of new to this situations and i have lost income!!!Your answers will be highly appreciated thank you.

should’ve turned it into your insurance and had your company go after their insurance company and proof of revenue to get loss of revenue usually likelast 3 months they divide down to X amount per day

Exactly what I did with exact the same accident. The consequences was really bad for me. Insurance rises premium because the claim for next three years. It was cheaper to eat by myself at the end.

I had a guy hit my trailer while i was loading a year ago or so.
He went behind me and cut so close he hit my tarp roller which is only like a foot most behind trailer.
Then his insurance had expired like 2 days before.

I called my insurance lady and she said they could do it, go after his and mine wouldn’t go up.
When they told him what it’s cost, he went and told trailer shop in Kansas City Mo to fix it, send him the bill.
Had to have new tarp bracket, new tarp(it ripped it like 3ft, and new tarp pole.

He his corner against tarp bar, just a small dent and scratched it.
I don’t know what it cost him.

He wrote a check, Cost me 3 days in KC the J waiting on shop, lost a load i was getting loaded when he hit me, had to unload and DH 100 miles to KC.

A little different here, as he was another driver, not shipper, but his boss had to drive to KC too.
