tscottme Thanks this. -
I primarily run between St. Louis to Chicago region everything west so I don’t hit a lot of traffic for most partChinatown Thanks this.

Mine was mostly Southeast to West Coast and back. Not too much Northeast, but some Chicago. Actually, my Chicago runs were pretty good and the people at the grocery warehouses were pretty laid back and easy to get along with.

I liked those Florida runs also. My company never had trucks stranded in Florida. Any time a truck was headed to Florida the company called CH Robinson and always had a load to get back out of Florida ASAP. 0/0's don't like CH Robinson and call it "Cheap & Heavy Robinson", but that didn't affect me as a company driver.hope not dumb twucker and drvrtech77 Thank this.

All I can say is that if you are expecting some kind of regular sleep schedule, whether it's 24 hours or 25 hours long, trucking really isn't the job for you.tscottme and skallagrime Thank this.

As an OTR driver, you will never be working on any "sleep schedule"; You will take sleep when you can, drive when you can and stop when you must. If the load won't be ready until 3 a.m., you have to be ready to drive at 3 a.m. If it takes you 8 hours driving to get to your destination, but you won't have an appointment before 12 hours, you need to stop somewhere and take 4 hours rest. That's the way it works.
If you are looking for ANY sort of 'regularity', then you are in the wrong business.PacoTaco and Arctic_fox Thank this. -
Sleep disorders, lol
Reefers, Apu’s, air drier’s popping off every 10 seconds, bums knocking on your doors all hours, someone trying to back in next to you at 2am with a backup alarm..it’s always the driver that can’t back..period. Driver’s with loud jakes letting you know he’s circling the lot looking for a curb to park. Crybabies laying on their air horns at all hours..on and on I could go.
You think you have a sleep disorder now, lol
I get a decent sleep about every 3rd day only because my body says fluff off and die already
Bud A. Thanks this.
