So, to expound on that... With a lift front, and dump rear, you can essentially choose your pivot point? And that's not a good idea to do while loaded, unless you're under the 20K axle rating???

    shanman Thanks this.

    Yep that's it.

You can use the dump loaded the axle is still taking some weight. I wouldn't lift if loaded.

I made mine out of 2X4's and 1X12. Cut the 2x4, 2' long and the 1X12, 12" long. I put the 1X12 on the 2x4 with screws. I put the 2X4 into my stake pocket and use 2 bungies to hold it in place. My trailer does not have pockets on the front, so I took angles and screwed a 2X6 onto the bottom of 1, 2X4. Got mine at Home Depot and they cut all the wood for me. Passed a level 1 in Iowa 1st trip out. Get extra placards at the shippers in case you lose one or two. Only time I have had trouble is when it was wet or raining.

Aah, man! They're harder to source than I thought. I got the slide in ones after about 3 stops around trailer shops, the flips I can't remember.

Might have to fab some for the load and find your permanent ones later.
