How tf does anyone on this forum “know” what someone else’s intention was?

I will sign the petition when those that were killed get a second chance at their lives

It doesn't matter what anyone here knows. The jury found him guilty on 27 counts. Presumably they weighed the evidence concerning intent for each count where that was an element needed for conviction. That's good enough for me.

He was afforded a jury trial with qualified legal representation before a duly sworn judge. Contrary to the convict's assertions, he is, in fact, a criminal and a killer.

I dislike that the petition verbiage makes the driver out to be a victim of his own circumstances. As a driver, one accepts responsibility for driving his tractor trailer in a safe manner and his actions before ever getting behind the wheel.

    This driver did neither.

He should have known about his faulty brakes and had the courage to speak up about that violation and had it dealt with or else refused to drive the unit in question.

What Rogel said about not having the courage to crash his truck I find disturbing. All he had to do was use the escape ramp, but he failed to do so, and this cost the lives of four innocents.

How anyone can find this excusable visa vis a petition after such a horrific wreck is not living in the real world.

Also stop use the word accident. There is no such thing. This was a collision there were nothing but contributing factors.

I really don't know what to say about the 2 drivers interviewed in this news story, they certainly don't speak for me and my opinion on the sentence. Let that sentence ring loud and clear to anybody interested in getting their CDL.

And of course the media puts this idiot ungroomed trucker on prime time to say some BS like "If the brakes fail the brakes fail, it could happen to anybody". Not at all true.

Brakes can fail, yes, but we are trained to deal with that situation, we are supposed to be anyway.
