It's not that tough.
Just mark where you want to be.
It'll probably take a couple of times, but you'll get it.
You can carry chalk, or you can just use a rock.
I'd say start with chalk. In a couple of years you'll be up to rock.

I figure out how many holes I want to move, and look to see just how far that is. Then, using my step as a guide, I move the truck that far. It never occurred to me to actually work out how many little step holes equal one slide hole, I just estimate how many inches I need to move it. I’m rarely more than one hole off…

Other than to say The further apart the holes the more weight per hole movement...and conversely the shorter the distance the less weightNumb Thanks this. -
Amazon sells a tandem slide pin. Like this.I bought two in case I lose one. And one that is magnetic but more expensive.
