If there's not much distance between the prepass and the exit, I will kill cruise control before I get the signal in case it's red. It's easier on the brake pads, the freight, and the co-driver in the sleeper.

What ticks me off is weigh in motion scales stating maintain 30 mph etc and the lineup slows to 10 .. I run near max weight all the time so I try to go over a wim scale at stated speed

I think it's a deer in the headlights kind of thing. "Be afraid! Very afraid! They're all out to get us!"
what a crock. -
It's kind of like when I am cruising along at say 65, and the fearless cowboy super trucker blows by me at 80 ish showing me what a big man he is. Then we come along a trooper sitting on the median and Mr. Cowboy boots-big visor-loud pipes-long gearshift-slanted cb antenna-cut off muscle shirt-guy shows the true size of his manhood when he panics and slams on the brakes, and I pass him right back. lol!!!!

In ca in the banning scale I would slowdown a few miles before I got to it. By the time I got to it, enough trucks passed by me where the scale line was backed up into the highway so they had to shut it down. I would just drive by the trucks that all zoomed by me. That scale sucks, it could take up to half an hour to get thru it sometimes
