Slowing down at scales

Yeah but if I had kept going down the road there would be no reason to post the video. I know I was good to keep going but this was a perfect opportunity to ask questions of truck drivers and a great learning opportunity for new truck drivers.

Why do people slow down to less-than-speed limit prior to scale exit ramps [when there's no reason]? Ignorance and/or stupidity is the best answer. They could care less about "measured speed", even between two known locations if they had the means. However the problems caused for those near and behind excessive slowing individuals becomes exponentially worse, especially when traffic density is high and less-than-preferred following distances are maintained by some.

We're all basically "clueless monkeys" (yes, you too) as is demonstrated in this video promoting managed and synchronized autonomous vehicle control ...

I quit watching his videos a LONG time ago.

 

I am not generally a fan of autonomous cars, but I loved that video. The idiotic way cars pull away from red lights, as shown in the beginning, is hands down my BIGGEST pet peeve when behind the wheel.

 

For those of you talking about drivers being stupid, I run that Washington port of entry nearly every night. I would get tagged to come in probably 95% of the time at 60 mph. A couple coworkers and former coworkers suggested dropping my speed to about 55, and the frequency of my getting tagged dropped to about 50%. Them's the facts, folks.
