After the b.s. I have been thru the last 2 months, I have completely given up caring if loads get there on time, and won't be killing myself trying to make up for others not doing their job.

This customer uses txt messages as the 1st option to communicate with drivers. After sitting at the 1st door they assigned me, I get another txt asking me to move down 3 doors. (Not sure if the 1st one was a typo - they had me at 4, moved me to 7)...while I was coaxing this truck to back up gently to the new door assignment, they then call me and ask me to do the same thing. They are finally loading me. Unfortunately, this side of the warehouse doesn't have the kind of docks that you back in with your doors closed and then they open them from the inside when they're ready to load. So my reefer has been sitting at the dock running hard trying to keep up in the friggin heat wave. On the other side of the offices, those docks are the good ones that you don't open the doors.

Is this the type of place that can handle both reefer and dry van?

Seems to me reefers would be restricted to the other docks if that were the case.

No, this is a cold storage facility. Thankfully, I am not pulling a frozen load out of here, there is no way this reefer could keep up with a -10 load, it's having a hard enough time with a 34° load

Dang sounds like a pos trailer. What kind of maintenance program does Shaffer have on the reefer units?

Not sure even a new trailer could keep sub-zero temps with it's doors open to a regular dock in 95° heat.

Load ended up being a -1 load, not a 34°. Almost 6 hours after my appointment to get loaded and gone. Still, could be worse. There was a Prime there that took out both of his right side super singles on his trailer. Not sure what he(or she) hit, maybe the rail on the side of the scale.

With 3 truck swaps and and an unplanned week of off time trying to get to a doctors appointment I’m at about 28,600 for the quarter when I deliver this load in a couple hours.

Even if it keeps it cold it’ll eventually ice up, old place couldn’t figure out why leaving the two compartment units hammering away with the back doors and bulkhead open for 10-12 hours waiting to load why they were constantly iced up.
