Don’t get to excited. Disappointment is near.Friend Thanks this.

I do when I pull pups. Unfortunately things like billing errors and unmanifested freight do happen sometimes. On sealed trailers, axle weights are the only way I can catch it.DonRobbie, hotrod1653, Knucklehead and 5 others Thank this.

This needs pointing out for the 25th time here in the echo chamber. You can beat your head against the wall but you're not gonna change the reality of the situation. Lots of drivers are willing and able to run more than 300 miles in a day slamming doors the problem is there's no profit in it beyond that many miles. That's where the profit is pulling dry vans for companies doing that freight, 300 miles give or take. Companies ain't gonna change what they do to suit you. They're fine doing $1,000 a day on contract freight under 333 miles. It's a $100 profit to them multiplied by several hundred or thousand trucks every day. Longer loads pay cheaper rates, less profit, more wear and tear.. It is what it is. They're not specialized and they're competing with Hamid and Carlos on the spot market who think long haul runs competing with railroads is great. Because in the old country to them those rates are great. But we know better. So let em have it. Move on to something that pays better, while it still exists. Thankfully if you can speak the language and are capable of more than just slamming doors every 600-1,000 miles or more there's still plenty of opportunities for you.High Stepper, JB7, hotrod1653 and 6 others Thank this.

You're misunderstanding what he was talking about. @drvrtech77 was waiting for a load being brought to his location, and the driver was taking much longer than expected, and @mdmgolfin asked if the other driver was one of our 300 mile a day drivers....and Shaffer doesn't do spot market, we do contract freight only, so the drivers you mentioned aren't our competitors.Friend, hotrod1653, Knucklehead and 3 others Thank this.

They are your competitors. Contract rates are tied to spot rates. Long term cheap spot drags the contracts down. You and some other drivers think you're the only super heros that can run more than 300 miles a day but you're not. The market ain't gonna give you what you want. They make their profit on shorter hauls and drivers will mostly screw up more than a 1p&1d per day so they're not going to risk it on anyone.High Stepper, ElmerFudpucker and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
