To be fair to your am - when I read your post last night I assumed it was a package deal. The short load gets you into position to take the longer one.
It's also common practice at my company that when a driver takes one for the team, they usually try and back it up with something nice. If not on the next load, then the one after.
Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

He's baaaaaack! Somebody must have been impersonating SSB for a little while.
The Adversarial relationship with Lincoln Operations will never end. It's not in their DNA to respectfully consider the views and opinions of seasoned drivers. Lincoln's elitism isn't going to change
I don't think it's in SSB's DNA to ever become the thoughtless "Yes Man" that they expect their drivers to be.JoeyJunk, MACK E-6, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -
Just under 10 yrs on the Crete side and 13 months on the reefer side...(I came back to Shaffer 8 or 9 years after I left Crete)
With all that time with them, you think I would expect such screwups from them...but I'll never learnJoeyJunk, Speed_Drums, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's my nature to be a sandspur in their sandal paradise of life (for the most part, that's meant for people down south who would know what a sandspur in the shoe feels like)Last edited: Nov 24, 2021
JoeyJunk and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
Come to Arizona and meet our Goatheads. I had one flatten a bicycle tire once.

And that's what I like about you. I appreciate you being a sand-spur in the Lincoln Elite's sandals. I'm about as fond of them as I am of RINOs. Matter of fact, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they're a bunch of Liz Cheney/Mitt Romney types.Itsbrokeagain and supersnackbar Thank this.

I was gonna be in the neighborhood delivering to the mystery company today...and I would have done the short load if I could have, or if they could have moved the short loads delivery to Weds morning, I could have still made UT without issue...but... that's a lot of if's...my big rip is...I do plenty of their short ####...and can't remember the last time I was that far west...I think I have paid my short load dues...but it's their playground, we can play their game or take our balls and go home.Speed_Drums, Lonesome and dwells40 Thank this.

And I am being a King Richard to my neighbor right now. He has his stereo up loud enough I can hear it, and it's been like that for a while...so, I decided to sing him a Thermoking lullaby...precooling my empty trailer on continuous at -20...for tomorrow's load...I hope he enjoys the soothing screaming hummmm of my reefer on high cool.
JoeyJunk, Itsbrokeagain, mitrucker and 7 others Thank this. -
there’s nothing better then a reefer trying to hold -20 continuously in my opinionJoeyJunk Thanks this.

Would be more obnoxious if it was a carrier unit I find the carrier ones to be louder. Then yet again most of my reefer experience has been with carrier units.JoeyJunk, Itsbrokeagain, mitrucker and 1 other person Thank this.
