My truck barely has the power to climb some of those turnpike hills with one trailer let alone two.

Well, a change of plans on my N. Platte delivery. They asked if I could t-call in KC so a driver could get home to NE. In return, I pick up a load in KS going to Indiana that can deliver on Friday or Saturday. If I get it there by Friday, it'll be a 3-400 mile bonus run, so I said o.k. You never know, I might need someone to do the same for me some day when I need to get home.

Picking up an empty so I could park it at PA terminal and shoot home for a few days… 8395xx trailer… sad to see this sort of abuse whether it was a driver or yard donkey

Played preplan roulette and won today.

1st load they sent me was a live AmeriCool at 230pm on 17th. Then a live unload at a Sysco in Columbus, OH at 12am on the 19th. Total of 480 mi.

Declined that load because not only is it unproductive but also I'm trying to stay on a night schedule and doing a live at 230pm was not going to work for me.

2nd load they send is a preload at a different AmeriCool facility that picks up anytime today. Headed to a Walmart DC in Missouri for a drop anytime on the 18th. Total of 590 miles.

So 2nd load not only has more miles than previous but allows me to keep moving and be productive. Plus can get it in before pay cutoff which will get me 3100 miles for week.

Usually when I decline a load, especially when I have the hours to pu and del ontime I would get a msg asking me to explain WHY I can't do it. They didn't do that this time, just took me off and send me another much better load.

We use to have a "other _____________________________" choice of why we declined a load, but they got rid of that with one of their updates. Probably because there are too many irritible malcontents like me who would put down something like "just because". Then, after they took the 'other' option away, I wouldn't choose a reason, and butthead would insist on one. So, if it was unproductive, I would pick that...but when there wasn't a reason choice that fit why I couldn't do it, I choose "religious reasons". I had one of the Op's managers question me about why religious reason...I basically said "as a member of the Hoopti Dooptee Church of Zabadee, I am forbiden from having any type of interaction with anyone from -whatever company name it was-". Then, I would follow it up with a 2nd reply to them with, because there isn't a choice that fits the reason, and then tell them why.

For a while, I refused all Tyson loads because when they 1st made the Chinese Beer Flu shot mandatory, they were also restricting outside carriers that weren't poked to staying in their trucks or only allowed out to use the porta-pooper. I told Op's that the reason I wouldn't do the load was because I was supporting their employees who had chosen to leave their job rather than complying...and I wouldn't set foot on a Tyson property in protest. For a while, they didn't send me to any Tyson. But Tyson relaxed their restrictions on outside carriers, so I started going back.

I miss the other option as well cause it let me type my exact reason.

Also this AmeriCool probably will be a hassle. Didn't have enough time to get to the facility so called them to check on preload.

They haven't preloaded it yet and stated its appointment is by 5pm but also if there are no empties then I'll need to be here before 5pm or it will be a work in and ill have to pay a $150 late fee. They also didn't say if they had an empty for the load since they haven't done a yard check yet.

Going to have to call back just before and check again later, cause all reviews say that if your a work in then expect to spend 10+ hours waiting for a door.

Was really hoping for no hassles but it is what it is.

My fuel stop was once again E. St. Louis, and once again I had a problem. I was too low on fuel and hours yesterday to bypass and request a new solution. After fueling, I went in to get my cash...and the newbie-in-training cashier hit the wrong button, and the transaction failed, then they couldn't find the manager's swipe card to fix it. Plus, before that, the shower couldn't make up it's mind whether it wanted to roast me or freeze me. So, I was a little delayed getting to KC to t-call this load. Honestly, that Pilot could be the next in line for Pilot's burn down renovation list and it wouldn't bother me one bit to bypass it's empty burned out shell. Then, on the way to pick up my next load, one of the bungee cords holding my fridge door shut broke, and most of my food came out... But I did find out one usefull tidbit of info. If you're picking up at the Smithfield/Eckrich plant in Junction City, KS, the Sapp Bros. at the corner where you turn in to get to the plant has an account with Crete/Shaffer for washouts, so you don't have to fight a line at a Blue Beacon. I have never seen that washout with more than the one person getting a washout done.
