Let's see, 22,000 gallons x 6.50881 lbs/gal = 143,194 pounds of methanol, which is the last placarded load I pulled, last week. Ironically, I had to chain up going over 126 in Oregon. I don't like those passes out there very much.) Plus the tare of 33,600, only it would probably be more since you would need a much bigger tank and lots more axles and a bigger tractor, so round it up to, say, 52,000 pounds tare. (That's what the heavy-haul flatbed rig I used to drive weighed empty, anyway.) So much more than 100k, more like 200k.
Keep in mind that methanol is pretty light, only .79 density of water. Much heavier if it were a denser product.
I wonder how long 22,000 gallons of methanol would burn. And how much of the forest up there would be left after it got done?
