I haven't answered my cell phone numerous times, for one reason or another, and haven't been disciplined in the slightest way. As far as the company being bad... I really don't see that happening. I have now been here 5 months, almost 6, and the only thing that is 'bad' is that the shop closes down to soon.

Believe me, I this company was bad I would say it in a heart beat, but I honestly can't say that. I am averaging 2600 miles a week now, on a consistent basis. I honestly believe don't know why other drivers have such a hard time doing this.

Hope all the info has helped, one way or another. I know its been awhile sense I updated,, but kinda busy :)

It's funny on driver's different experiences with trucking companies. Some drivers come into threads like these and cry bloody murder about a company, and another (like me) comes on to defend the company(s). I can understand both sides though, since I have been on both sides. With US Xpress (my first company) I thought it was the bee's knees when I first started. My team partner and I were racking in the miles and cash, but after six months, it all changed. We were getting 6.5k miles at the beginning and then fell to 4.5k-5k per week at 24c a mile. I still held faith that it would be better, but it never did. I even came on these forums, and on their thread still defending them due to the fact I really was hoping it would be better; it never did.

So now I am with Barr-Nunn, and I'm making more money than I did with US Xpress (teaming), well... let me rephrase that. I'm making making more money consistently than with US Xpress (Teaming). Yes at US Xpress those weeks with 6.5k miles was a bigger pay check, but those happened few and far between. With Barr-Nunn, I have been receiving 2600+ miles a week, consistently. For example this week I received 2,895 miles, two weeks ago I pulled in 3,200.

Now the reason I am typing all of this, is to show how funny (or sad depending on your point-of-view) on how driver's can have different experiences. I have met drivers with Barr-Nunn having the same experience as me (with different Team Leaders) and I have met some that were thinking about turning in their trucks. Why is their experience so much worse? What am I doing differently that they arent? I asked them questions to determine this, and their answers really don't differ from what I do. Is it luck? Is it simply the company saying "well you've been here for X amount of time, it's now time to give the miles to the newer drivers."? Am I blessed? Or am I fooling myself that these miles will continue for me? Am I bound to be one of these drivers struggling, and rethinking my choice to work for this company.

I think all drivers should approach a company as wait and see, and give and take. That's exactly the attitude I have adopted sense I have began my working in my life. From McDonalds employee, US Army, College, trucking school, and now. Work hard, be kind and respectful and go with the flow. Go with the grain instead of against it.

Just thought I would throw in my opinion, and I guess the theme I wanted to get across in this is... everyone's experience is not the same, but we all can do things to make them very similar.

What speed is your truck governed to and does it have onguard?

trucks are governed from 61-65. All depends on the luck of the draw. As far as onguard, nope. No more beeping! :)

So sorry for such a late reply! Been very busy lately. Yes, I'm still with the company, and things are still going well. Team leader is awesome and has been giving me the miles (I've actually told him to lay off a couple weeks ago, pulled in 3400 miles that week and needed a break).

I've switched back to southeast regional again. Trying to watch more football!! :) going to take a pay cut but no big deal. Won't be dramatic pay decrease, just won't see the 3400 mile weeks anymore. I still love the company, been here now 9 months and haven't had a problem yet. (knock on wood).

If you do come on, please send me a PM before you go to orientation. :) and ask any questions you may have!
